Billboard has called out yet another Trump lie where he claims album sales for reality popette Jackie Evancho “have skyrocketed” after it was announced she would play at his inaugural.
Trump was struggling to find any artist willing to perform at his swearing in as President. Even Kiss knocked him back, according to Gene Simmons wife Shannon Tweed.
Now Trump has claimed that the mere mention of an artist name by his side is enough to increase sales. Billboard calls bullshit on Trump’s claim.
On Twitter Trump said, “Jackie Evancho’s album sales have skyrocketed after announcing her Inauguration performance. Some people just don’t understand the “Movement”.”

In the week after the announced, Billboard confirms that sales for Jackie Evancho’s ‘Someday At Christmas’ did increase by 94%. On the surface that sound impressive but the facts are that was an increase of 5000 copies on the previous week. By comparison, sales for ‘A Pentatonix Christmas’ by Pentatonix increased by 46,000 units that same week. Both were Christmas albums selling a week before Christmas.
It was also noted that in the week of the increased sales, Evancho performed songs from the album on America’s Got Talent holiday special. Some would say that had far more promotional power than a bloated orang-utan looking 70 year old.
To further gauge the Trumped up statement, Billboard reviewed sales of other Jackie Evancho albums. Of the five other Jackie Evancho albums … none have returned to the charts since the Trump statement.
Trump has once again broken yet another bullshit detector with his false statement.
