70-year old King got her start working as a songwriter at the Brill Building in New York in the 60s. She wrote her first hit ‘Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow’ in 1960 for The Shirelles when she was 18 but it wasn’t until 1970 until she released her own album ‘Writer’.
The follow-up ‘Tapestry’ in 1971 was for many years the biggest selling album for a female artist.
Songs written by Carole King include ‘’You’ve Got A Friend’, ‘I Feel The Earth Move’, ‘The Loco-Motion’, ‘Up On The Roof’, ‘Jazzman’ and ‘Its Too Late’.
