Garbage will release their first album in seven years independently in a few months.
The original line-up featuring Shirley Manson (vocals), Steve Marker (guitar, keyboards), Duke Erikson (guitar, keyboards) and Butch Vig (drums, loops) recorded the album in Atwater Village, Los Angeles. It is their first album recorded away from Vig and Marker’s Smart Studios in Madison, WI. (Smart Studios closed shop on May 1, 2010).
The last Garbage album was ‘Bleed Like Me’ in 2005.
The new album will be released on their new indie label STUNVOLUME. It has already been licensed to Michael Gudisnki’s Liberator Music/The Mushroom Group in Australia and New Zealand, Sony is Japan, Universal in Canada and Cooperative Music in Asia, Europe and Latin America.
Garbage released their first album in 1995. It went double platinum in Australia, the UK and the USA and earned Garbage a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist.
Garbage have sold over 12 million albums worldwide. There will be a world tour soon after the new album is released.
