Historic ‘Australian Made’ Concert To Receive Upgrade Release After 30 Years

30 years ago, in the summer of 87, Jimmy Barnes, INXS, Models, Divinyls, I’m Talking, The Saints and The Triffids toured with the Australian Made festival.

To promote the tour, INXS and Jimmy Barnes recorded a cover of The Easybeats ‘Good Times’ and performed the song as the finale each night.

26 December 1986 – King George Oval, Hobart
1 January 1987 – Thebarton Oval, Adelaide
3 January 1987 – Olympic Park, Melbourne
10 January 1987 – Subiaco Oval, Perth
17 January 1987 – Chandler Velodrome, Brisbane
24 January 1987 – Endeavour Field, Cronulla

Australian director Richard Lowenstein captured the event using a 50 person film crew. Australian Made was released in Australian cinemas in 1987. The edited concert originally appeared on VHS and then that version minus The Triffids and The Saints first released on DVD but not remastered.

Michael Hutchence30 years on, the film has been remastered from the footage held by the Australian Film and Sound Archives. The new edition has been recreated for widescreen and the soundtrack completely digitally remastered.

The historic movie will be shown for one night only in Australian cinemas on Friday 25 November 2016.
