Honey was the drummer for The Honeycombs, the 60s UK pop group with the million selling song ‘Have I The Right?’

Honey was a hairdresser, hence the name Honeycombs. She started the band her brother John Lantree in 1963. Her hairdresser boss Martin Murray was the original rhythm guitarist.

The members of The Honeycombs met songwriters Ken Howard and Alan Blaikley who presented them with the song ‘Have I The Right?’ They also wrote ‘The Legend of Xanadu’ for Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich.

‘Have I The Right?’ was the biggest hit for The Honeycombs but they had a few minor hits in the UK with the Ray Davies song ‘Something Better Beginning’ and anther Howard & Blaikley song ‘That’s The Way’.

After The Honeycombs broke up in 1967, Honey went back to hairdressing. She married government worker David Coxall in 1969. He died in 2018. They had two children Matthew and Simon. Honey also had five grandchildren.
