Hoodoo Gurus played their final festival show with Mark Kingsmill last night in Ballarat but they might have a final farewell for Mark in the works.
The performance at the Red Hot Summer tour in Ballarat was officially scheduled as Mark’s last show with Hoodoo Gurus but there will possibly be one more.
Dave Faulkner hinted that the Hoodoo Gurus want to give Mark a proper farewell show for Gurus fans and it will most likely happen in Sydney in May.
Mark is leaving the band after 31 years. Dave says they have found his replacement, he is not necessarily a household name but will fit the band and that the new drummer will be revealed over the next week or so.
Once the new Guru is announced and Mark’s farewell is complete, the band plans to return to the studio to start work on their 10th album. The last Hoodoo Gurus album ‘Purity Of Essence’ was released in 2010.
