Kylie Minogue is facing the first major flop of her career after her single ‘Into The Blue’ stiffed on the Australian charts.
‘Into The Blue’ had a poor debut one week ago when it entered the ARIA singles chart at no. 46 with 2,648 sales. It was the first time ever that the first single off a Kylie studio album did not debut in the Top 40.
This week the figures got even worse. ‘Into The Blue’ plummeted to no. 96 with 1,184 sales bringing total sales to 3,832 after two full weeks on sale.
‘Into The Blue’ is the lead single from the 12th Kylie Minogue album ‘Kiss Me Once’, to be released in March. The album is a high priority for Jay-Z’s Roc Nation management. It is her first release via Roc Nation after her split with Terry Blamey, her manager of 25 years, in January 2013.
Since 1987, Kylie has had success with every first single from her studio albums so the failure of ‘Into The Blue’ is also a massive failure for Roc Nation.
