Muse are using a horn section on their next album.
The band is currently recording their sixth studio album in Los Angeles and posted a photo of “some legendary players” on their Twitter account.
On Twitter on the weekend they let fans know about “The amazing brass from last night. More horns today’ and later posted “just done some more horns with some legendary players”.
On Sunday the message was “now some strings. This album is coming along nicely. Bring on autumn.”
Having a horn section fits with what we have heard so far. In December Chris Wolstenholme said the album would be “something radically different”.
The band has been working on the record with arranger, composer and conductor David Campbell (the Canadian one, not the Aussie one). Campbell worked on ‘Death Magnetic’ for Metallica, ‘These Days’ for Bon Jovi and ‘Fallen’ for ‘Evanescence’.
Muse are aiming for a n October, 2012 release date.
Muse’s last studio album was ‘The Resistance’ in 2009. It earned them three Grammy Awards including Best Rock Album.
