NBC today credited rock legend Neil Young with two things he had never done … dead and walked on the moon.
‘Astronaut Neil Young, first man to walk on the moon, dies at age 82’ the NBC.com news headline read.
Opps. I think they meant Neil Armstrong.
The NBC.com website published the wrong name at around 3pm New York time after news that astronaut Neil Armstrong had passed away.
Astronaut Armstrong passed away on Saturday at the age of 82. In 1969, he was commander of Apollo 11, the first spacecraft to land on the moon.
The NBC website has now been updated with the correct name and the message “Editor’s note: An early headline on this story briefly misstated Neil Armstrong’s name”.
Yesterday, Neil Young announced the name of the next Crazy Horse album.
