Over 1 million viewers tuned in to watch the first show of the new version of Young Talent Time last night.
1.05 million viewers across Australia switched Young Talent Time on even though it was a tough viewing night with the debut of the show up against the tennis.
The show was the 6th most watch show in Australia yesterday begin the tennis (1.6m), Seven News (1.4m), New Girl (1.27m), Homeland (1.23m) and Modern Family (1.1m).
The modernised Young Talent Time did well with a contemporary playlist featuring songs from Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas and Jessie J.
New host Rob Mills was confident for his first hosting role in a major TV timeslot and former YTT star Tina Arena brought the show full-circle and was the much needed link with the past as a judge.
The original Young Talent Time, with host Johnny Young, ran from 1971 to 1988. The show launched the career of Tina Arena, Dannii Minogue and Debbie Byrne.
