Queen To Move Forward With Adam Lambert

Both Brian May and Roger Taylor are enthusiastically impressed with the abilities of Adam Lambert and his handling of the Queen catalog during their joint tour.

Since Freddie Mercury’s death in 1991, May and Taylor have kept the Queen legacy alive through two albums of archive materials, tribute concerts and the West End smash We Will Rock You. They have also performed and toured as “Queen +” and the guest vocalist’s name with the most notable and longest lasting being Queen + Paul Rodgers and the current Queen + Adam Lambert.

May told Classic Rock “Adam is the first person we’ve encountered who can do all the Queen catalogue without blinking. He is a gift from God.”

Taylor added “He’s incredibly musical, and we certainly take anything he says quite seriously.”

May, Taylor and Lambert first performed together on May 25 and 26, 2011 at the finals of American Idol in which Adam was a finalist. They first came together as an official unit on July 11, 12 and 114, 2012 at the Hammersmith Apollo in London. They went on to shows in Kiev, Moscow and Wroclaw, Poland that same year.

In 2013, Queen + Adam Lambert performed at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas before announcing a tour for 2014.
