Bruce Begley of The Honey’s and Flicker has died.
Three-piece band The Honey’s surfaced around 1988 with the debut album ‘Goddess’. Begley and The Honey’s Grant Shanahan co-wrote the album and singer Andrea Croft delivered the vocals.
The Honey’s built a reputation in inner Sydney pub venues but they didn’t last long. Croft and Shanahan deserted Begley and formed Catherine Wheel after just the one album. Croft went on to form Pollyanna with Matt Handley.
16-years passed before Bruce put the band back together. The Honey’s reformed for shows in 2008. That led to a second album ‘Star Baby’ recorded at Shanahan’s Hawkesbury studio.
