Steve Coy of 80s new wave dance band Dead Or Alive has died at the age of 56.

Coy was the drummer for Dead or Alive from 1982. He played on the first Dead or Alive hit, the cover of KC & The Sunshine Band’s ‘That’s The Way (I Like It)’ in 1984 and following recordings through to the band’s most recent album ‘Fragile’ in 2000.

In Australia Dead Or Alive had a string of hit singles starting with ‘You Spin Me Round (Like A Record) in 1984.

The hits following were ‘Lover Come Back To Me’, ‘In Too Deep’, ‘Brand New Lover’, ‘Something In My House’, ‘Hooked On Love’ and ‘Turn Around And Count 2 Ten’ between 1984 and 1988.

Pete Burns, the frontman for Dead or Alive, died of a heart attack in 2016 at age 57.
