Australian folk singer Sarah Calderwood will join The Waterboys at their Sydney show in January.
The Waterboys’ Mike Scott tells Noise11.com that he met Sarah when he was asked to sing on her debut solo album. “We have an Australian musician joining us when we play at The State Theatre in Sydney for our ‘Mr Yeats’ show,” Mike said. “That’s Sarah Calderwood. I know Sarah because I sang on her debut solo album which came out last year. The album is called ‘As Night Falls’ and I sing on the song ‘The Blue Cockade’.
Sarah is originally from Queensland Celtic group Sunas. She has been performing on her own for the past decade and ‘As Night Falls’ is her first solo album.
The Waterboys 2013 shows will feature Steve Wickham on fiddle plus three players plus three players from the ‘Mr Yeats’ album. Ralph Salmins on drums, James Hallawell on keyboards and Marc Arciero on bass.
