Pink Floyd has been traditionally reluctant to have their music available via most new media sources. They were late in adding their music to download sites and, for a time, demanded that only full album downloads be made available stopping fans from cherry picking their favorite tracks.
The even newer streaming services have not seen any of Floyd’s music until now but it looks like Spotify may have broken the seal. The band’s official website posted the following on Friday:
Now They’re Here
Pink Floyd have come to Spotify in the form of Wish You Were Here, which is available now to stream for Spotify users worldwide. As soon as one million streams of the song have been achieved, the whole Pink Floyd catalogue will be made available.
This will be audio-only, but will include all the band’s studio albums and official live albums.
Now that Pink Floyd have opened the floodgates, how about it Led Zeppelin, AC/DC and The Beatles?
