8-year old Juliet Childs from Brisbane is a hardcore rock star with thanks to YouTube.
The video ‘My First Hardcore Song’ has all the makings of making Juliet the biggest YouTube star since Rebecca Black.
Rebecca’s mother Kristina shot the black and white video and then recruited Aussie producer Rob Sharpe to finish the deed in the studio.
Rob wrote and produced the music and then added the Juliet vocals and it all happened fast. “Last week Juliet was at our friend, Rob Sharpes house and for fun they recorded a song to show me for when I picked her up,” Kristina tells Noise11.com. “When they played it to me I was in tears of laughter at how insanely cute the whole thing was, I said to him that I would make a film clip for it for fun to show our friends and family. So on Thursday while we were having a play date at New Farm Park I shot some footage of Juliet singing along to the song. Came home, edited the film clip up quickly and posted it after dinner to YouTube. Within 3 hours I had already received 1000+ emails and everything has spiraled from there”.
Since the video was uploaded on January 19 it has been viewed 11,853,212 times on YouTube. “Never in 12 million years did we expect for any of this to happen. We made the video to share with family and friends and now eskimo’s are watching it,” she said.
There is now a merch website selling Juliet t-shirts and the song is also now available on iTunes.
