Singers Pete Seeger and Arlo Guthrie became part of the throng in New York’s Occupy Wall Street protest on Friday night.
Seeger, 92, was with his grandson Tao Rodriguez Seeger, blues singer Guy Davis and songwriter David Amram, walked thirty blocks with the help of two canes through the city’s upper west side. The four helped the crowed of over 1,000 sing the songs of both Seeger and other protest movements of the past.
The group ended at Columbus Circle where the artists performed the civil rights anthem We Shall Overcome with the help of Arlo Guthrie.
