The rumours are true: Black Sabbath will headline Lollapalooza alongside Red Hot Chili Peppers, Black Keys and Jack White.
The Sabbath rumours were swirling for a long time but were dampened by Tony Iommi’s recent health issues and the continuing dissent of Bill Ward. But now Lollapalooza has finally confirmed the band will co-headline the big weekend in Chicago.
The Chicago Tribune reports that alt-rock megastars Red Hot Chili Peppers, Black Keys and Jack White will also be joined by rising electro stars Avicii and French disco masters Justice.
Reunited acts At The Drive-In and The Afghan Whigs will also perform, as well as a who’s who of alternative music, including Calvin Harris, Miike Snow, Bloc Party, Florence + the Machine, Passion Pit, The Shins, Sigur Ros, Fun., M83, Neon Indian, Franz Ferdinand, Metric, Dawes, Aloe Blacc, Santigold and scores more.
Australian acts who’ve hopped on the bill include The Temper Trap, Tame Impala and The Jezabels.
Lollapalooza runs from August 3 to 5 at Chicago’s Grant Park.
