ABBA Are Up To Something But No-One Knows Exactly What It Is

ABBA has plans to return but the form is a bit of a mystery.

All four members of the band along with Simon Fuller, creator of American Idol, have joined forces to develop a “new entertainment experience” using digital technology.

Whether this digital technology is robotics, holograms or something brand new won’t be known until next year but Fuller said: “We are exploring a new technological world that will allow us to create new forms of entertainment and content we couldn’t have previously imagined.” Reports say that Fuller has been working for the last few years on the development of “hyper-realistic digital humans”.

Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad have only performed together once since the band’s breakup in 1982, on June 6, 2016, at a party celebrating the 50th anniversary of when Ulvaeus and Andersson first met.

Andersson said of the new venture “We’re inspired by the limitless possibilities of what the future holds and are loving being a part of creating something new and dramatic here. A time machine that captures the essence of who we were and are.”

Lyngstad added, ”Our fans around the world are always asking us to re-form and so I hope this new Abba creation will excite them as much as it excites me!”
