AC/DC will return with their new album ‘Rock Or Bust’ in November.
‘Rock Or Bust’ is the first AC/DC album since ‘Black Ice’ six years ago. It will also be the band’s first record ever without founding member Malcolm Young. Malcolm had to step down from the band due to illness in April.
AC/DC have now confirmed Malcolm has officially left the band. “Earlier this year AC/DC released a statement explaining that due to illness, Malcolm would be taking a break from the band. Unfortunately due to the nature of Malcolm’s illness, he will not be re-joining the band,” a statement from their record label Alberts reported today.
Malcolm Young was replaced by his nephew Steve Young for ‘Rock Or Bust’. Drummer Phil Rudd told Noise11.com “I enjoyed playing with Stevie. It was great. It was easy, I won’t say easy, it as very comfortable. I was very comfortable in that situation. 10 days and it was done”.
Phil is excited about the sound of ‘Rock Or Bust’. “It is stunning. It sounds so good. If I have any idea what is going on, it is fucking good mate”.
‘Rock Or Bust’ was recorded at Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, Canada with producer Brendan O’Brien and mixer Mike Fraser.
The first track to get exposure from the new set will be Play Ball which will premier as part of Turner Sports’ coverage of the 2014 Major League Baseball Postseason.
AC/DC ‘Rock Or Bust’ will be released on November 28.
