The absence of AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd in the recent videos for the band, as well as new publicity shots, has been explained. Rudd has been charged with “attempting to procure a murder”.
The Melbourne born, New Zealand based Rudd was arrested at his home in Tauranga, New Zealand for attempting the dirty deed done dirt cheap this morning (November 6).
Police also charged him with possession of cannabis and possession of methamphetamine.
Rudd was absent from the band’s video shoots for ‘Play Ball’ and ‘Rock Or Bust’, their first two singles from their upcoming ‘Rock Or Bust’ album. At the time of the shoot and the new band’s publicity photo done at the same time the reason for Rudd’s absence was given as “attending to family issues”.
Rudd will face court today. More on this breaking story soon.
Rudd was recently in Australia to promote his debut solo album ‘Head Job’. He did play on all of the tracks for the ‘Rock Or Bust’ album, recorded in Canada this year.
‘Rock Or Bust’ will be released on November 28.
