AC/DC fans have made ‘Rock Or Bust’ the number one album in Australia this week preferring to buy the CD three times more than the download.

AC/DC ‘Rock Or Bust’ was a convincing chart hit this week, outselling Taylor Swift’s number two album ‘1989’ by over 12,000 units.

‘Rock Or Bust’ sold 26,730 copies with only 6,609 of them sold as downloads. 20121 CD copies of ‘Rock or Bust’ sold out of record stores in Australia last week.

Every top 10 album in the Australian chart sold convincingly large numbers of physical disc over downloads in the past week. Even pop act Taylor Swift’s ‘1989’ sold 10412 CDs to 3930 downloads, 7241 One Direction bought the CD of ‘Four’ compared to 1293 download sales and 3689 Nickelback fans preferred ‘No Fixed Address’ on CD to 930 download sales.

Albums by Michael Buble, Ed Sheeran, Human Nature, Justice Crew, The Veronicas and Foo Fighters all sold more than 70% on CD while Human Nature’s ‘Jukebox’ at number 6 sold 5826 CDs to only 177 downloads.

Once again Australian music sales are continuing to favour the higher quality CD over the poor quality MP3 format and Australian music fans have been trending back to the physical purchase.
