AC/DC Live CD Is Not First In 20 Years

AC/DC will release the audio from their Live A River Plate DVD on CD in November and for some reason claim it is their first live album in 20 years. That is complete rubbish.

AC/DC Live At River Plate

Technically, ‘Live At River Plate’ is AC/DC’s first official live album on CD since the Bonfire releases in 1997 (featuring the Let There Be Rock soundtrack and previously unreleased ‘Live From Atlantic Studios’ albums with Bon Scott). That was 15 years ago, not 20.

However, AC/DC was also captured live on more recent recordings for the DVD’s ‘No Bull’ (1996) and ‘Stiff Upper Lip’ (2001).

What they claim is the previous live recording is the 1992 video ‘Live At Donington’. The Donington video was the one also released as the 1992 ‘AC/DC Live’ album.

AC/DC’s statement on their official website that ‘Live At River Plate’ is their first live album in 20 years is completely false but hey, any new AC/DC record is a good AC/DC record.

AC/DC Live At River Plate will be released in November.
