Post punk pop legend is to perform at Create Music festival 20th anniversary with a special solo electris show.
The former frontman of 80s chart toppers Adan & The Ants has reactivated his solo career with his new wave punck rock attitude still very much intact. Always full of surprises he still delivers all the hits with energetic vitriol.
Festival organiser, Chris Dixon, said: “Create has grown into one of the UK’s biggest free music events. We ramp it up every year. For our 20-year celebration we’ve secured Adam Ant to headline in Ashford’s Victoria Park on 26 July. To engage more residents and spread the economic benefits to the town centre, St Mary’s church will host special pre-festival gigs, including a solo performance by Gaz Coombes of Supergrass.
“We are delighted to attract these star names and look forward to welcoming music lovers from across the South East. At the same time, we work hard to ensure that Create remains firmly rooted in the local community. We will always provide a platform for local acts and a lot of our suppliers are based in Kent. Our design and marketing partner Hairyhand are as good as anything you’ll find in London and they understand our core Ashford audience.”
Hairyhand creative director, Scott Randall, said: ‘Hats off to Chris Dixon and his team, who make every event bigger and better than the last. The 2015 visuals reference rock, pop, folk and dance culture ‘ all the elements that make it such a fantastic day out.’
The 2015 Create Music Festival will take place on Sunday 26 July in Victoria Park, Ashford, Kent, TN23 4QD. Gates: 11:30am. Close: 21:00pm.
