It is possible Adele ‘21’ has become the first album since Delta Goodrem ‘Innocent Eyes’ to sell over 1,000,000 copies in Australia. ‘21’ is currently certified 14x Platinum by ARIA for sales of 980,000.

It is still selling around 4000 copies a week in Australia which on November and December sales should mean it has passed the benchmark 1,000,000 sales making it the 7th album ever in Australia to do so.
Delta Goodrem ‘Innocent Eyes’, released in 2003 was the last album to sell over 1,000,000 in Australia.
The biggest selling album of all-time in Australia is John Farnham’s ‘Whispering Jack’, released in 1986. It has sold 1,680,000 to date.

Alanis Morissette ‘Jagged Little Pill’ is 20,000 short of selling 1,000,000. An impending Australian tour for Alanis and a campaign around ‘Jagged Little Pill’ could get her over the million mark.
Next is Bruce Springsteen ‘Born In The USA’. If some focus is put on that album during his upcoming ‘Born In The USA’ tour of Australia, that album could also hit 1,000,000 sales in Australia during 2013.
