Adele and PJ Harvey have been named for royal honours in the Queens Birthday list this weekend.
Adele and PJ Harvey will receive the Member of the British Empire (MBE) award for their services to music.
Adele’s most recent recording was the theme for the recent James Bond movie ‘Skyfall’. In a totally unprecedented performance, The Queen herself participated in a video production with James Bond actor Daniel Craig for her introduction to the 2012 London Olympics.
The theme song earned Adele and Academy Award this year.
PJ Harvey’s most recent album is 2011’s ‘Let England Shake’.
In the Queen’s Birthday Honors this week composer Mike Batt was awarded the special honour of Lieutenant of the Royal Victoria Order (LVO) for his services to the Royal Household and veteran producer and artist manager Vicki Wickham was awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE).
