Adele is reportedly working with OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder on her new album.
The 26-year-old singer hasn’t released a record since her Grammy-winning 2011 offering 21.
But UK newspaper The Mirror reports Adele is hitting the studio once again with the help of the rocker, who’s written hits for Beyoncé and Leona Lewis.
‘Adele and Ryan have been in the studio for most of last week. He has been working with her on recording some songs. He is over from the States for a gig that was taking place at Edinburgh castle last night. So he coincided that with meeting up with Adele,’ a source told the outlet.
‘She is delighted to have such a talented writer and performer working with her and for Ryan it is a massive privilege.’
The pair have reportedly been holed up in Air Studios in Hampstead, North London.
Adele lives just to the south, in Sussex, with partner Simon Konecki and their 21-month-old son, Angelo.
Rumours have circulated for years about when the singer would release another album, with some speculating she was suffering from ‘happy’ writer’s block after settling down. The star’s first two records, 19 and 21, both chronicled difficult times in love and life.
But according to the insider, Adele is finally feeling ready to record again.
‘This will definitely get her fans excited. Now they have an inkling that there is something actually happening, there will be lots of people looking forward to hearing the album,’ the source said.
Adele has yet to confirm the claims.
However, Ryan seems confident he can help the singer churn out a chart-topping record.
“You have to have hits all the time: that is your currency. You have to have the most cutting edge, innovative, driving, fantastical songs that the world instantly reacts to. They don’t need a lot of thought, and you don’t have to dig deep,’ he told Fault last week.
