Adele’s reign goes on, but the top twenty got a shake up on this week’s ARIA chart.
It’s 2011, so Adele’s 21 must be at the top of the charts, but ‘70s and ‘80s legends Cold Chisel ran right up to number two this week with their new Best Of.
There was a bunch of new stuff in the top twenty this week. Talent show stars did well; Shannon Noll’s A Million Suns debuted at eight and Mark Vincent’s Songs From The Heart at ten.
Our favourite Sydney cowgirl Lanie Lane hit number twelve with her debut To The Horses and skyrocketing Sydney pop punk kids Tonight Alive hit number 15 with their debut What Are You So Scared Of?
And right behind, Noel Gallagher’s post-Oasis project High Flying Birds got in at 16 with their self-titled debut.
We have to look way down at 37 for indie electro kid M83’s new album Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming. And right at the bottom, LA groove metallers Five Finger Death Punch snuck in at 50 with American Capitalist.
Following an awful 48 debut, Bjork’s Biophilia climbed to 31 this week. And Jason Derulo’s Future History popped back into the top ten at number nine, from 22 last week.
Sneaky Sound System, Feist and Ryan Adams all dropped heavily in their second week.
LMFAO are back to ruling the singles charts, another week at the top with ‘Sexy And I Know It’. And Bieber’s Christmas tune ‘Mistletoe’ debuted at number 20.
We’ll have to wait one more week to see if Coldplay can knocked Adele off her perch.
