Adele has the biggest selling album of the 21st century in the UK and Amy Winehouse and James Blunt are right behind her.
The Official Charts Company’s list shows Adele at the top of the list that takes into account charts from week 1 2000 to week 11 2015 with her album 21, a monster seller in an era dominated by digital downloads and, now, streaming. It’s one of two albums by the singer in the list with her 19 at number 27.
She is followed by Amy Winehouse’s classic Back to Black, James Blunt’s similarly titled Back to Bedlam, Leona Lewis’ Spirit and Dido’s No Angel.
Then comes the Beatles. Their hits album 1 is the sixth biggest selling album of the last 15+ years in England even though none of the songs were recorded even in the three decades running up to the beginning of the millennium.
