Neither rapper 360, country superstar Lee Kernaghan, nor John Farnham can knock Adele off the top of this week’s chart.
Seemingly no one can. Adele’s 21 is cemented at the top of the ARIA Album Chart for another week but three Aussie artists gave it a good crack.
Melbourne rapper 360 hit number four this week with Flying And Falling, country music superstar Lee Kernaghan debuted at eight with this Ultimate Hits collection and John Farnham’s Acoustic Chapel Sessions popped in at number ten.
Other debuts this week include: Meat Loaf’s Hell In A Handbasket at 20 (despite his atrocious Grand Final performance), Beccy Cole’s Songs And Pictures at 24, Cody Simpson’s Coast To Coast at 26, punkers You Me At Six’s Sinners Never Sleep at 28, and way back at number 50, New Found Glory’s Radiosurgery.
Shooting back up the chart are LMFAO, back in at 6 from 13 last week, and Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream which leapt back into the charts at 12.
The big second week drops include Machine Head (down from 10 to 27), Alice Cooper (down from 16 to 29), Mastodon (from 18 to 39), Demi Lovato (from 20 to 41), and Wilco (from 23 to 45).
Big news in the Singles Chart, Gotye finally getting bumped off the top by Kelly Clarkson’s ‘Mr. Know It All’, with LMFAO’s ‘Sexy And I Know It’ debuting at three. Of course, Clarkson has been visiting, so expect Gotye back on top next week.
The big question is, who will eventually be the one to sink Adele?
