Adele still lords it all over everyone on this week’s ARIA charts.
Adele’s 21 juggernaut is still rolling over new releases to hold number one in its thirtieth week in the charts.
Only two new albums, both Australian, managed to make a dent this week.
Eskimo Joe couldn’t nab their fourth number one debut in a row, Ghosts Of The Past coming in at number three behind Adele and Kanye and Jay-Z’s Watch The Throne.
And inventive rapper Phrase hit the chart at 29 with his new album Babylon.
Oddly, there were some massive re-entries this week.
Jessica Mauboy’s Get ‘Em Girls stormed back in at number nine, and Gurrumul’s Rrakala dropped back into the chart at 28.
Also, the Sucker Punch soundtrack came back in at 35, Birds Of Tokyo came back at 42, and Chris Brown, Lady Antebellum and Taylor Swift snuck back in at 46, 48 and 49.
Gotye still holds number one on the singles chart with the platinum sensation ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ and his 2006 album Like Drawing Blood has climbed back up to number 13 on the album chart, boding very well for the chances of new album Making Mirrors, which came out on Friday.
