Adele equals Delta Goodrem’s record, and not much else happens, in this week’s ARIA Chart wrap.
Adele has surpassed Whispering Jack, and this week equals Delta Goodrem’s 29-weeks in the top spot for Innocent Eyes.
It was a very lean week for new releases – only one, Band Of Skulls’ Sweet Sour entering the charts, and even then it was all the way down at number 35.
Whitney Houston had another good showing, with The Ultimate Collection up to number three, and The Essential up to number seven. Tourers Roxette got a boost for their Hits album, rising to 17.
Otherwise it’s a snoozefest. Lana Del Rey holds at number two, Bruno Mars at number four in his 71st appearance in the chart, and Rod Stewart’s Storyteller hovers at number five.
The biggest slump was Paul McCartney, whose Kisses On The Bottom dropped from 15 to 37.
It’s equally shrugworthy on the singles chart, with Flo Rida and Sia’s evergreen ‘Wild Ones’ up the top, followed by Gym Class Heroes’ ‘Ass Back Home’, and 360’s ‘Boys Like You’.
There were far more new releases last Friday than the week before, so next week’s chart should be more exciting… fingers crossed.
