Whitney Houston splits the sales, sending Adele back to the top in this week’s ARIA chart wrap.
Adele’s 21 went back to number one (for the 28th week), and 19 shot back to number 29 following the Grammys, but three Whitney Houston collections (and the Bodyguard soundtrack) charted.
The Greatest Hits is up to number three, The Ultimate Collection is at 12, The Essential hit 20 and The Bodyguard came in at 33.
Lana Del Rey holds number two, The Black Keys number four, and Leonard Cohen rounds out the top five.
The Fray’s Scars & Stories was the highest charting new entry at 18, followed by triplej’s Nick Cave tribute Straight To You at 32, Die Antwoord’s Ten$ion at 38, Roxette’s Hits at 39, Hillsong United’s Live In Miami at 43, and Emeli Sande’s Our Version Of Events at 46.
The biggest drops this week were Ed Sheeran down from 14 to 28, Reece Mastin from 28 to 40, Metallica’s ‘Beyond Magnetic’ EP slumping from 26 to 45, and Lamb Of God slipping down to 49 from 33.
Flo Rida’s reign on the singles chart with ‘Wild Ones’ continues, Whitney’s ‘I Will Always Love You’ shot to eight, with ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’ at 25 and ‘I Have Nothing’ at 47.
