Adele spends another week at the top of the ARIA Chart, with no new albums entering.
We had to check the date on this week’s ARIA Chart as virtually nothing has changed from last week.
It’s Adele’s 26th week atop the chart, as she creeps up on Delta Goodrem’s record for Innocent Eyes at 29 weeks. Another five weeks after that and she could equal Dire Straits for the crown of longest time at number one in ARIA history.
There wasn’t one new album in the chart, only seeing movement at the very bottom end with tourers Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, and The Wombats, as well as Florence + The Machine and a Crowded House best of re-entering from 42 to 50.
Things are looking good for Adele. The list of new releases from Friday didn’t include anything that is likely to sell enough to unseat her.
The big news is the singles chart. Foster The People’s ‘Pumped Up Kicks’ finally climbed to number one last week after over a year since release.
They spent exactly one week there, trumped this week by Flo Rida’s ‘Wild Ones’, featuring Sia. They were also beaten by Timomatic, David Guetta, Coldplay, Snoop Dogg and Simple Plan; ‘Pumped Up Kicks’ slumping to seventh spot.
