The big question for the US chart next week is will it belong to Adele or Evanescence.
‘The Open Door’, the first album from Evanescence in 5 years is expected to sell around 110,000, according to HitsDailyDouble.com, which is roughly what Adele ‘21’ did this week.
This week’s number one by Scotty McCreery ‘Clear As Day’ should see a major retreat from the top with Five Finger Death Punch looking like owning no. 3 with ‘American Capitalist’.
As an indicator to how the industry has changed over the years, the debut album from Evanescence sold 141,765 units in its first week back in 2003. That scored it a Top 10 spot at no. 7.
