Adrian Belew, the former guitarist for David Bowie, Talking Heads, Frank Zappa and long-time member of King Crimson sits down with Noise11’s Paul Cashmere for amazing stories about his incredible career.

Adrian met Bowie via Brian Eno who saw him playing with Frank Zappa. He met Talking Heads after they saw him play with Bowie at Madison Square Garden then he joined their band, then Tom Tom Club. He then joined Cyndi Lauper for True Colours, Nine Inch Nails for The Downward Spiral and Paul Simon for Graceland.

Bowie sang lead on a track we play this week from Adrian’s ‘Young Lions’ album. He says he last spoke with David on the phone a year before he died but they were in constant contact on email.

We also debut Adrian’s latest project Gizmodrome with Stewart Copeland of The Police.

Adrian Belew is in Melbourne this week exclusively for Bird’s Basement. There are no other Australian dates.
