Atmospheric French pop duo Air deliver new music – a soundtrack song with Victoria Legrand from Beach House.
Air - Le Voyage Dans La Lune
The beloved pair have been commissioned to write the soundtrack for a newly restored silent film from 1902 called Le Voyage Dans La Lune (Journey To The Moon).
NME reports that the Georges Melies film was rediscovered in 1993, and once it was hand-coloured and restored and Air provided the soundtrack, it was premiered at Cannes this year.
Air will release the entire soundtrack for Le Voyage Dans La Lune on February 8 and have delivered a sample of it in the form of the song ‘Seven Stars’ featuring guest vocals from Victoria Legrand of Maryland dream pop duo Beach House.
It’s their first album since 2009’s Love 2 and will feature 11 tracks, surely longer than the film, which only runs for 14-minutes.
