Big Day Out director AJ Maddah says the Big Day Out kissed Blur’s ass and was rewarded with a cancellation less than two months for the festival was about to begin.
Blur announced on Sunday morning that they would no longer be coming to Australia and New Zealand for Big Day Out 2014, blaming the festival promoters for their withdrawal.
AJ Maddah, the new co-owner and director of Big Day Out has a different story tweeting, “Not sure why they would blame festival when all everyone here has done is kiss their ass”.
@normo94 @thenatosummit That's the feeling I get. Not sure why they would blame festival when all everyone here has done is kiss their ass..

Maddah says the Big Day Out went out of their way to accommodate Blur. “Far as I know BDO gave into every demand within the possibility of curfews & public safety,” he said.

Blur laid the blame right on Big Day Out organisers but AJ does not know why. “Need to find out why they are blaming Big Day Out,” he replied to a punter. “Everyone at BDO is absolutely devastated and confused by this turn of events,” he also said.

Maddah says he will get to the bottom of the Blur cancellation. “People deserve to know what is going on. Being completely transparent is the only way to go,” he said.

The Blur cancellation looks extremely bad for the band who would have signed the Big Day Out contract months ago before being announced.
“All we can do is to replace them and bring you the best show possible,” Maddah said.
A replacement for Blur will be announced soon.
