Alanis Morissette is convinced unwavering forgiveness is the best mindset to undertake.
The 41-year-old Canadian songstress hit it big after the release of her 1995 album Jagged Little Pill, which was filled with song lyrics detailing the pain of her personal life.
But two decades later, Alanis has managed to find a different way to de-stress from the difficulties of interpersonal relationships.
On Monday via Twitter she shared an image of the book cover for author Colin Tipping’s work Radical Forgiveness: A Revolutionary Five-Stage Process to Heal Relationships, Let Go of Anger and Blame, Find Peace in Any Situation, raving about how much the programme has changed her life.
‘powerful 13 step process. been using it for over a decade. @colintip (sic),’ she tweeted, giving a shout-out to the self-help coach’s Twitter account.
Colin’s programme helps people discover the possibility of there being a divine purpose in everything.
And Alanis has spoken previously about how she incorporates all that she’s been through in life into her music.
‘I love the idea of taking the multitude of experiences that I’ve had and alchemically using them to share some hard-won wisdom and insights I’ve had along the way,” she told the American edition of Elle magazine. ‘I use my own life stories as case studies to illustrate things that I want to share. Whether it’s about recovery from addiction or commentary on fame or childhood or stages of development-entertainingly sharing ideas and distilling a lot of academic, psychological, spiritual teachings.’
