The high profile release of the ‘Suicide Squad’ movie has pushed the soundtrack album ahead of the new Bernard Fanning solo album ‘Civil Dusk’ in first day sales.
Suicide Squad features ‘Heathens’ a new song from twenty one pilots which has had no trouble gathering multi-format airplay in Australia while the Fanning airplay has been limited to Triple M.
However Fanning need not be too concerned this early in the week as soundtrack rarely have a long-term impact.
The other album impacting early is Montaigne’s debut ‘Glorious Heights’, currently sitting just behind ‘Suicide Squad’ and ‘Civil Dusk’.
After selling enough to earn an overall Top 5 this week, The Voice winner Alfie Arcuri’s debut ‘Zenith’ has already dropped to no 80.
