Amity Affliction should have the number one album in Australia this week and Justice Crew look good to stay with the top single.
Justice Crew look like they are going to land a sixth week at No.1 on the Australian singles chart this coming weekend with their mega-selling “Que Sera” track.
Former No.1 “Geronimo” for Sheppard jumps back up from its past couple of weeks at ten to within the Top 5 due to their current national tour.
Nico & Vinz seems to be holding the No.2 spot again for this coming weekend’s chart with “Am I Wrong”, whilst Mr Probz is most likely to be sailing smoothly with “Waves’ within the top three. Sia with “Chandelier”, the two current Iggy Azalea tracks, ZHU and Milky Chance should all retain their Top 10 status, whilst they could be joined by chart, and Top 10 first timers, Sigma with “Nobody to Love” (TW-13) and Tove Lo with “Stay High” (TW-17).
The new 360 album “Utopia” is out on Friday and ahead of its release a new track from the new set could become this weeks highest new entry, possibly within the Top 20, and he again teams with Gossling, whom he had his biggest hit in Feb 2012 on “Boys Like You” (HP-3), this new track is entitled “Price of Fame”. With the only other new Top 20 entry being a climb into the twenty for the new Nicki Minaj track “Pills N’ Potions” (TW-22).
Another new album out this Friday is Linkin Park with “The Hunting Party”, with three more tracks from the album possibly debuting this week, and “Final Masquerade” could enter within the Top 30, whilst further tracks “Guilty All the Same” featuring Rakim and “Rebellion” with Daron Malakian could enter with the Top 80. The Vamps and Demi Lovato track “Somebody to You” entered at No.49 and this week could jump into the higher end of the Top 30, whilst The Madden Brothers with “We Are Done” (New TW-65) could also be within the thirty this weekend.
Sia debuted at No.57 with “Eye of the Needle” and it looks set for a Top 40 berth, as too Austin Mahone with Pitbull on “MMM Yeah” (TW-51). Lana Del Rey is only weeks away from her new album “Ultraviolence” (out June 13th), and another new track could enter this week, “Brooklyn Baby”; The Broods recent tour could return their single “Bridges” (HP-57, Jan 2014), deadmau5 could debut with “Phantoms Can’t Hang”; Imagine Dragons theme for ‘Transformers 4’ entitled “Battle Cry”, and also from a current film ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ could give Birdy an entry with “Not About Angels”, all of these new tracks possibly entering in the 41 to 50 region of the chart.
‘The Voice: Showdowns’ could bring back the following tracks; Blu Cantrell with “Hit ’em Up Style” (HP-3, Sept 2001) (Top 60), Bastille with “Pompeii” (Top 70), John Farnham’s “Burn for You” (HP-5, Dec 1990) (Top 80), Matt Corby with “Resolution” and One Direction with “Story of My Life” (both Top 90). Local artist Benny Tipene could enter the Top 60 with his track “Make You Mine”, and the Lorde cover of “Everybody Wants to Rule the World”, which was originally used in the second ‘Hunger Games’ film is now promoting the October release for the new Assassins Creed game ‘Unity’, and her rendition of the Tears for Fears (HP-2, peaked early June 1985) song could also crack the Top 60 this coming weekend.
Further new entries could come via Rise Against with “I Don’t Want to Be Here Anymore” (Top 70), KYA: LDN Noise vs. Christina Parie with “What I Live for”, Taylor Henderson with his new ballad “Sail Away”, and already with 13 million views after only a few days on YouTube, PSY with Snoop Dogg could enter with the track “Hangover”.
Albums:
At the moment it’s a three way race to the No.1 spot on the Australian albums chart this weekend, at the moment The Amity Affliction are on track to land their second successive No.1 album with their fourth set entitled “Let the Ocean Take Me”.
Whilst looking for their first chart-toppers are Jack White with “Lazaretto” and Passenger with “Whispers”, both acts having previously peaked at No.2 with their first entries, Jack with “Blunderbuss” (April 2012) and Passenger’s “All the Little Lights” spent four broken weeks at No.2 during April and again in August of 2013. These major entries will of course push Coldplay out of the top spot with “Ghost Stories”, but it should still retain a Top 5 standing.
This past week, the film ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ got a national cinema release here, so the fact that the soundtrack fell to No.33 (from #19) this week should be remedied and possibly give the album a Top 10 placing this weekend. The ‘Frozen’ soundtrack should remain within the ten also, along with Sam Smith, Michael Jackson and James Blunt, who is continuing his national tour here this week.
Possibly cracking the Top 10 for the first time could be First Aid Kit with their third album “Stay Gold”, whilst The Beatles 50th Anniversary tour of Australia doco’s and articles (plus iTunes Beatles LP discounts) has kicked their “#1’s” compilation back into the charts, along with “The White Album” and the “1962-1966” and “1967-1970” box-sets. Plus The Eagles 60 Minutes interview Sunday night could see their “The Very Best of” (TW-35) back within the Top 20.
Glass Animals’ debut album “Zaba” could enter within the Top 30, whilst another similar entry could come via Above & Beyond with “Anjunabeats Vol.11”. Miranda Lambert could score a Top 40 entry with her set “Platinum”, whilst further new entries could come from REMI with “Raw x Infinity” and the Original Broadway Cast Recording for this weeks Tony Award winning musical ‘Hedwig & the Angry Inch’.
