The new Amy Winehouse collection leaks, and the dress she wore on the cover of Back To Black sells at auction.
It’s only a couple of days early, but Lioness: Hidden Treasures hit the ‘net a couple of days ago. This shouldn’t be so much of a problem, since almost all of the songs have been heard before in other forms, or sung by other singers. It’s also released in Australia today.
The bigger news is that the chiffon dress that she wore on the cover of her megahit album Back To Black has been auctioned by London’s Kerry Taylor Auctions.
Reuters reports that the dress sold for £43,200 (the hammer price was £36,000, with a buyer’s premium added) to the Museo de la Moda in Santiago, Chile.
It was expected to sell from between £10,000 and £20,000. The proceeds go to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, set up by her father Mitch to battle youth poverty and drug and alcohol addiction.
Lioness: Hidden Treasures will be officially released on December 5.
