British band Anathema will be releasing a concert film ‘Anathema – A Sort of Homecoming’ around the same time they will be touring Australia and New Zealand.
Anathema will play dates in New Zealand late October and then start the Australian leg of their tour on October 27. It is an anticipated tour Prog Rock enthusiasts who have for years collected the musical works of Anathema along with albums from Pink Floyd, David Gilmour and Jethro Tull.
The band’s cathedral concert film ‘A Sort of Homecoming’ is set for release on October 30. The movie was shot at the Liverpool Cathedral in Britain on March 7, 2015.
Anathema formed as Pagan Angel in 1990 by the Cavanagh brothers Vincent, Daniel and Jamie. The name-changed came before the first EP ‘The Crestfallen’ in 1992.
‘A Sort of Homecoming’ is a 100 minute acoustic set covering the albums ‘Distant Satellites’ (2014), ‘Weather Systems’ (2012), ‘We’re Here Because We’re Here’ (2010), ‘A Natural Disaster’ (2003) and ‘Alternative 4’ (1998).
