Tegan & Sara, Common & John Legend, Glen Campbell, Rita Ora and Adam Levine are the artists nominated for Academy Award Song of the Year.
The Academy shortlisted the four finalists from a list of 79 potential artists with songs featured in movies during 2014.
Tegan & Sara were nominated for ‘Everything is Awesome’ featuring Lonely Island for the movie ‘The Lego Movie’.
Common & John Legend picked up a Golden Globe last week for their song ‘Glory’ from Selma. It is now a Oscar nominee as well.
Rita Ora has received her first Oscar nomination for ‘Grateful’ from Beyond The Lights.
Glenn Campbell has the most heartfelt song. ‘I’m Not Gonna Miss Me’ is an autobiographical song about the country superstar’s struggle with Alzheimer’s from the documentary movie ‘Glen Campbell … I’ll Be Me’.
Adam Levine is in for ‘Lost Stars’ from Begin Again.
The Academy Awards will be announced on February 22 from 7pm EST US (from 10am February 23 Australian eastern time).
