Billy Crystal will tour Australia in July but instead of the traditional comedy show, the comedian actor will appear “in conversation” with Andrew Denton.
Crystal’s most recent TV show was ‘The Comedians’ with Josh Gad.
Billy Crystal started out in the 1970s as Jodie Dallas in the sitcom ‘Soap’. He appeared in Spinal Tap as Morty The Mime.
Crystal’s string of hit movies includes ‘City Slickers’. ‘When Harry Met Sally’, ‘Analyze This’ and ‘Analyze That’.
He has also hosted The Grammy Awards in 1987, 1988 and 1989 and the Academy Awards in 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2004 and 2012.
In a statement Crystal said, “I’m absolutely delighted to be back in Australia. My experience with 700 Sundays was fantastic. Audiences were sensational and the people we met were unforgettable.”
“I’m also really excited to be working with Andrew Denton. He’s very witty and incisive and we’ll bring the best out of each other. The show will be spontaneous, funny and unpredictable. I tell stories, I perform, we show film clips. And yes, I will stand up. It’s not only a conversation with Andrew, it’s with the audience as well.”
Billy Crystal dates
July 10 and 11, Sydney, Star Event Centre
July 18 and 19, Brisbane, QPAC
July 25 and 28, Perth, Riverside Theatre
