Andrew O’Keefe, who has been playing King Herod in Jesus Christ Superstar, has been forced to leave the production because of a ruptured disc.
Doctors have ordered O’Keefe off the show for the remainder of the Australian tour. Leon Craig will play Herod for the rest of the shows in Melbourne and the final show in Brisbane.
The London cast of Jesus Christ Superstar is starring in the Australian production along Jon Stevens as Pilate and Andrew O’Keefe (now Leon Craig) as Herod.
The cast from London features Tim Minchin as Judas, Melanie C as Mary Magdalene, Jon Stevens as Pontius Pilate and Ben Forster as Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ Superstar starts its Melbourne run tonight.
Remaining dates are:
June 14, 15 and 16, Melbourne, Rod Laver Arena (Saturday and Sunday includes Matinee and Evening performances)
June 18, Brisbane, Entertainment Centre
