Heart’s Ann and Nancy Wilson have been announced as speakers at the SXSW Music Conference in Austin in March.
The Wilson sisters have been performing as Heart since 1973. Their 1976 album ‘Dreamboat Annie’ broke them worldwide with the hits ‘Magic Man’ and ‘Crazy On You’. It was a million selling album.
The following year, ‘Little Queen’ delivered the massive hit ‘Barracuda’.
More hits followed such as the no. 1 ‘Alone’ (1987) and the no. 2 hit ‘All I Want To Do Is Make Love To You’ (1990).
Heart also did a version of John Farnham’s ‘You’re The Voice’.
In 1986 Nancy married director Cameron Crowe and composed soundtracks for his movies ‘Jerry Maguire’, ‘Almost Famous’, ‘Elizabethtown’ and ‘Vanilla Sky’. She also had a cameo in his movie ‘Fast Times At Ridgemont High’. (They have since divorced).
The Wilson’s are the second major act to be announced at speakers at SXSW 2102. Bruce Springsteen will deliver the keynote address.
