Anthony Albanese, the former Deputy Prime Minister of Australia and current Member for Grayndler, has curated a special edition of iHeartRadio Music News powered by Noise11.com for Record Store Day 2017.
‘Albo’ is the Ambassador for Record Store Day and understands how the efforts contributed by record store owners and their staff contributes not only to Australia’s culture but also the economy.
“It is something that is also about the economy and jobs,” Albo says in this week’s Noise11 iHeartRadio show. “Your local record store is a small business. People who own it aren’t squillionaires. They own it because they love music. They employ locals and they support Australian music. It’s a chance to go along, touch records, see what new is happening, have a chat and meet people. I think its really important that a few years ago people were predicting that record stores would die off and people would get all their music by downloading it. Thank goodness that hasn’t happened. That is why the global celebration, 30 countries are participating in Record Store Day and I am very pleased Australia is a part of that”.
Every song this week at iHeartRadio Music News powered by Noise11.com was curated by Anthony Albanese who joins Paul Cashmere for a special edition of the show in a lead up for Record Store Day.
