Aretha Franklin will be laid to rest on 31 August 2018 in her hometown of Detroit.
Aretha’s funeral will be held at the Greater Grace Temple and is exclusive to family and friends.
Fans have been invited to a public viewing on 28 and 29 August two days prior to the service at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History from 9am to 9pm.
The final resting place for the Queen of Soul will be Woodlawn Cemetry in Detroit next to her father the Reverend CL Franklin, sisters Carolyn and Erma (who both sang on ‘Respect’), her brother Cecil and her nephew Thomas.
Aretha Franklin died 16 August 2018 after an eight year battle with cancer.
