The SXSW music conference has opened artist submissions for showcases for 2017.
SXSW has extended the music showcase dates for 2017 with artists able to apply for one official showcase from March 13 to 19 2017. The complete SXSW conference is on from March 10 to 19, 2017.
Australia has a strong presence at the Austin, Texas based event. “This year we had more than 40 bands perform at SXSW and over 750 delegates from the Interactive, Film and Music industries. This compares to just 20 delegates and five bands attending when I started in 2002,” Aussie based South Pacific Representative Phil Tripp says.
SXSW has 105 venues showcasing over 2000 bands during the music festival part of the conference. Australian based Phil Tripp spends nine months prior to the event advising Australian, New Zealand and Hawaiian artists and their associates on what is involved in committing to the festival. “I’m available here on the ground in real time happy to Australian managers, labels and indie bands with 15 years of knowledge of how to win the application process and also obtain valued visas to perform at SXSW.”
